March 7, 2017 - Fort Pierce, FL - LPA Coach Roger Mathews is one step closer to his 500th win coaching girls softball - "the most on the coast". His Lady Greyhounds shut out winless Port St. Lucie tonight 12-1 at the Lawnwood Softball complex in Fort Pierce. LPA has a showdown with FP Central tomorrow evening at 6PM at Lawnwood as Mathews goes for number 499.
Should the Lady Greyhounds win over FP Central, this sets Mathews up to win his 500th on the road, either at Foundation Academy in Winter Springs on Saturday or after Spring Break on March 28th at LaBelle. However, should LPA win against FP Central and lose their next two games, this will set Mathews up to grab number 500 at home against winless Martin County on April 4th.
